The rangers aren't a winning team (yet) so no hes not taking a massive paycut.. his camp wants around 7m rangers want him for around 5 or more realistically 5.5.. would say a good compromise for both parties is 5 years 6m.. however I dont think I'd keep strome for that $. They might sit tight and see if they can make a trade at the draft for a 2C.. we won't sign strome during the season.. rangers have eyes on other options. Scheifele in WPG if they want to make big changes cause they just aren't there.. JT Miller.. maybe Montreal trades Dvorak rangers would be calling because he's got a low cap hit.. gonna be a crazy offseason thats for sure

Lmao at the Miller trade.. more realistic trade for 1 1/2 years of miller would be lundkvist kravtsov and a 1st. Or Chytil Jones and a 1st. Or any mixture of those 2 trades. Kakko won't be traded neither will othmann or laf or Schneider.

Sure they could just keep hunt on the second line or a non scoring 3rd line.. thats always a recipe for success.. lol.. its already been rumored from multiple people that chytil might be gone as well as miller. They probably gonna resign strome so chytils new contract more money for a 3rd line C makes no sense.. use those 2 pieces to upgrade.. goodrow is a good option at 3C especially the money we're paying him. They need a top 6 RW and have the assets to go get one.. its easier to get a 3rd pair depth dman like Giordano instead of blockbuster for chychrun.. either way they have holes and they need to be fixed. Use the assets now let's not waste panarins prime.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NoVaSpartan</b></div><div>Ignoring the fact that Arizona can't do that as they already retain 2 contracts, that is hilariously bad value. Arizona will probably want at least one of Othmann or Schneider to be added in, and probably another early to mid round pick. Chychrun brings a great contract for a guy who can easily be a 1LD, and will command a lot of value, and while Kessel isn't the same guy we once knew, he's still an alright asset when retention is thrown in. Those two together will be a large amount, more than I think NYR would be willing to give up.</div></div>
Kessel is 34 is defensive liability and has 5 goals this year in 30 plus games.. what do you think you are getting for Kessel?
Chychrun yes is young and good and cost effective contract. Rangers won't trade othmann or Schneider. Guys who they are willing to trade and has been reported already is zac Jones kandre miller chytil and definitely kravtsov.. how about a good goalie in georgiev. He won't be back next year.. then you have draft picks. And mid range prospects such as robertson henrikson barron.. I think there is a deal to be made with all the pieces mentioned.. if not rangers move on call Seattle for Giordano as a 3rd pair guy for 1 playoff run. There's plenty of options

For 3 years of toffoli at retained salary its not a bad deal. Rangers would be willing to give up firsts again because they have been stockpiling for last 4 years. Stanley cup is goal and to put a good roster out and have 3-5 year solid window at a cup is worth it. Primetime goalie. Norris winning fox. Panarin is top 5 top 7 in whole league. Mika and kreids are playing awesome. They only a few pieces away from being right there.

Agreed on both. We have assets to get both trades done.. toffoli retention is based on how far Montreal is willing to go.. 500k is conservative estimate 1M would be better

Kracstov also isnt worth a lot tp us we have Gallagher caufield anderson all long term
The team that will get toffoli will be the one that can offer the best combo of C or RD prospect and a 1st.</div></div>
Then add chytil as the C to a toffoli trade. Gorton would like that since he drafted chytil. And add a pick or 2 or another prospect

I want what your smoking....... panarin not on PP1? Our PP1 eats up 75% of our PP time and you want a top 7 player in the entire league not on the ice.. smh.. strome laf and goodrow have been good I like that look to so give them a few more games but its not a permanent fix until we make a trade and decide on stromes future with us. In the meantime if you keep 13 16 21 as 2nd line then put kreider on rw for a few more games see if he can manage with panarin and mika. That line would be overkill but fun to watch. 3rd line could be chytil kakko and Gautier but Gautier playing off wing not to sure about and that line wouldn't produce much offense..

The rangers getting monahan is very likely if we drop out of eichel talks... there is a zero percent chance we take on Lucics contract for 2 years to play 4th line.. igor will be in the mid 4s range he hasn't proven much and hasn't been consistent enough. 4 years in the 4.2-4.6 range to save some cap. We don't need Ryan Reaves for that cap hit and for that trade capital when we can sign some free agents for lesser money. Rangers could go out and get martinook and goodrow as solid bottom 6 guys without giving up anything..

The nate Schmidt trade has been rumored and rangers need a good veteran LD. Your probably right the term is too long and money a little high. We do need a shorter term cheaper option at LD then..
That buffalo trade is pretty spot on they don't easily decline thats naive to think there getting anything more than that.
Tampa trade was just messing around because tampa desperately needs to shed salary so they will probably keep Yannick gourde over cirelli.. and they still have to get rid of one of killorn and Johnson or both..
The rangers in a blockbuster trade and other depth trades will probably lose chytil and strome for cap reasons.. so they need a good reliable 3C to play with either laf or kreider if he gets demoted. They need to bolster their 4th line obviously. And a good veteran LD. Trade Georgie for cap reasons is obvious.

All these trades suck and the rangers would be worse off for these trades.. they need a 2C not sven baerschi Sutter and niskanen. They won't trade kredier until at least the 3rd or 4th yr before his ntc kicks in hes not going anywhere . And trouba don't think anyone would take that big cap hit for the next 6 yrs.

I think If we get nylander they'd probably want chytil in a package not Anderson.. and deangelo would have to go too.. not a bad starting point and tbe rangers can have their 2C while chytil is a cheaper 3C option for leafs cause leafs have some big cap problems they need to trim the fat

Hank got 1 year left at 8.5M. Still has value hes a great goalie but needs the work he needs to play a lot. He doesn't have good numbers last 2 years cause he has been splitting the load a lot. They would be happy to just clear cap space so maybe just one 2nd rounder for him. Colorado DESPERATELY needs a goalie. They have a cup contending team there forwards are ridiculous but they have no goalie hank is proven goalie and playoff tested over 100 playoff games

Hockey not like football we dont see to many of those moving up into top 5 at the draft trades. If a team is in the top 5 95% of the time theres an extremely good player there and they will opt to take him instead of trading that pick away for an unknown. The price would be way too steep to move up that many spots.. maybe we get lucky again with the ping pong balls and can move into the top 10 at least and just pick the best player available.

Good thing your not the GM lol. Cant go backwards in time. Kreiders here for the long haul create a team for next year. And strome doesn't drive his own offense your right but he has chemistry with panarin and strome is cerebral enough to play with him. Strome is just a temporary solution until 2 years from now 2021 offseason when they have 30M in cap space can try and go out and get a true number 1 or 2 center to go with zibanajad for 1 2 punch and have chytil play 3C. Also you absolutely don't get rid of lemieux hes the only sandpaper we have his grit and toughness at a cheap price is an asset and every team has that type of guy and needs that guy. The other option?? Haley?? Absolutely not. And fast is a swiss army knife if they could keep him to kill penalties move up and down the lineup when theres injuries and overall good defensive forward that's a great player to have.. you try and keep fast for less then 2.4m. He shouldn't be playing with panarin in top 6 but that's cause we dont have anyone else this year. Hes a really good 3rd 4th liner that is extremely valuable to this team that's why they didnt trade him. Cant have 4 lines of all stars gotta have those fasts and lemieuxs to fill out the roster on cheap cap hits

If melnyk wont another team that's ****ty and rebuilding will.. Anaheim might be willing the devils too. It's just one year of smith and they get a draft pick wouldnt see why teams wouldnt if they have ton of cap space. Rykov could stay there if he does we have 4 other young defenseman coming up so it wont be an issue

I agree with everything you did. You have the rangers standing firm and keeping to it not really adding anyone just retaining some guys.. Except we wont get a first for georgiev. DeAngelo will be in that ballpark that's a good deal and strome as well. I do think hank is gonna go though and waive his NTC for his last year. Opens up cap space. We can get rid of Smith's whole contract to either Anaheim or Ottawa we have to add a draft pick to him and take a lesser pick back but its neccessary we need the cap. If hank decides he goes and smith can get traded we have space to sign an extra winger to make us stronger maybe a depth defenseman to help out on the blueline for just 1 year. We can make playoffs but they need to add something more if they open up more cap space to make them better team.

That's why hes not in top 6.. too many intangibles.. does he stay in college? Does he sign a deal and play in ahl? Does he sign deal and can play some nhl games to wet his feet? Can he make the jump quicker like fox did? Fox surprised us all.. he did play in college I think 4 years so he has that but miller has one year of college under his belt he can theoretically play in the ahl and get some time in nhl. I think 3 or 4 years is a stretch. 2 years max. We may seem him at the end of next season after the college season is over gives him 2 college seasons and can sign his ELC in march/april like kreider did in 2012. If miller wont be 7th guy they can call up Matthew Robertson sean day if they still have rykov they have many options.

not bad I like. Id rather get Eberle instead of yakupov and I'd trade Hayes in a package if I have too to get him. then sign Vanek to replace Hayes and put miller third line Center or Lindberg third line center
