I'm not sure if these exact deals will happen but I do really like the thought of taking some 1 yr contract guys off teams who could use the money elsewhere. Could gain the Sabres assets for future (picks/young players) . Interesting idea

Also, I'd try to give away a 2017 2nd Rounder with Ennis before offering a 2018. 2018 draft should be stronger and BUF has multiple 2017 2nd Round Pick. I know you traded the first so having those seconds might be nice, but I'd rather use the 2017 picks if possible

I really like the idea of Plekanec. You could tell that ROR got beaten down badly due to minutes last year, especially with Larsson down. We can get him as a 3rd line center to take pressure off of ROR, maybe trade him at the deadline with retained salary if ERod becomes a dude. Nash doesn't make as much sense. I dont know if people understand how much flexibility buffalo has this year.

Ekholm costs way more imo, but that's just cause I'm a jets fan who would do anything for a second LHD so Morrissey doesn't have to play all 60 mins.

NyR is in a tough spot, but they'll get better offers for Nash.
