I think remove Comtois and Chytil. I have doubts that NYR can afford that term while also buying Lehkonen’s next contract.

I could see Comtois as a player the Rangers would like to add to improve their bottom 6. He fits more of the mold Gallant likes to play. Both Chytil and Comtois could use a change of scenery and I think they would make an interesting 1 for 1 swap in a "hockey trade"

I’m not denying that Comtois is a good fit for the reasons you listed, but at the same time I just don’t see the Rangers having the ability to hold on to BOTH him and Lehkonen after this season. It’s pick one contract or the other.

i really like these trades. I'm very wary of trading for pure rentals, so the Ducks deal really works for me in a "get a rental AND a longer term asset" way.

I imagine we'd let Rakell walk after the season and re-sign Comtois and Lehkonen.
