        Tho i did the math and i think the cap still worked out during JPs last year

        The Karlsson trade was in reaction to Tavares not signing. 100% would not have happened.

        They tried to sign Tavares in the offseason through free agency because they felt they needed 1 more piece to get a cup. Tavares signed in Toronto in July. The sharks didn’t trade for Karlsson until September. It doesn’t happen if they sign Tavares
