While Mayfield would be nice on this team, I think you're overpaying a bit here. Also he'd only have 1 year guaranteed with us. That's a lot to give up for a 30 year old rental.

My thought is you kinda do a "3-way" trade with Seattle. Get a second for Barrie and then flip it for Mayfield. I think for a 1.5year its worth it and gives a more defensive player for a playoff push/run.

Why do Oilers need to Trade Yamo?

Because he is not a top 6 winger and he is too small and too easily pushed off the puck to play in their bottom 6. trade him in a package for a big mean RHD or a Goalie

Lavoie is the guy you keep over Yamo.

Given Oilers recent success under woodcroft, Oilers just need 9 top 9 guys. Drai and Mcdavid are top tier, JP, Hyman, Nuge are top 6 forwards. Holloway should be there but unproven. Why add more unproven assets when you have 3 guys (YAmo, Foegele and McLeod). LAvoie played like trash in the AHL this year and has been better of late
