Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

Some maybe not so simple moves to acquire some draft picks and salary to meet the floor in season 2022-23. (I might cop it for the Toronto 1st, so alternatively would include Niemela or Knies).

I expect Power to sign after the NCAA season and if he shows well at the Olympics Levi may follow. Erik Portillo is also having a good season in the NCAA, but both Levi and Portillo will likely need some time in AHL which is natural for goalies or benefit from another year in NCAA.
After 3 NCAA seasons Ryan Johnson will likely turn pro and initially play games in both NHL and AHL arena's.

The Sabres players they will move at the deadline have cheap contacts. They won’t and don’t need to take on Moore or Ritchie.

They will need to make the floor next year. Ritchie and Dermott help for 2022-23. Don't forget Johnny Boychuk was a part of the Sabres cap hit this year. Also players they add and call-up (Power, Johnson, Quinn, Peterka) all have entry level cap hits.

I know, but it’s not hard to reach the cap floor. They will bring back Pysk, he will get more than 900k, they still need another goalie, another RD. Possibly another winger. Plus Bishop and Ferland are contacts they can trade for. I just can’t see them being Interested in two useless players.

Most likely players to be moved at deadline are Hinostroza, Anderson, Miller, Hagg, and Pysyk (in that order I would say). Eakin would be great to dump somewhere but I doubt any team wants him even for a 7th. Realistically, 2-3 of those guys are moved out and the Sabres find themselves with 2-3 more picks in the 3rd-5th round range in the 2022 draft

You are correct, depending on the market and team needs, Eakin could be traded to a team that needs help winning face offs.
For example Dowd is WAS top FO forward.
Eakin has more wins (249 v 245) and a higher FO% (54.8 v 51.4).
A team who is in a win now may give up more than a 7th.
