Why??? He's a reasonable cap hit and munches minutes protecting the young guys. He's not perfect, but he's a good fit for now as younger guys get acclimated to the league

He sucks, and his contract is an albatross. He also drags Mete down (though Mete himself is having an awful game as we speak). This is great for ARI to get some picks, but this is addition by subtraction for OTT.

Oh yeah im grateful that we got connor brown from that deal which kinda softens the blow of having zaitsevs contract, but its just that 3 years of zaitsev is enough, especially if the team wants to start winning more this year.

Trust me, the team will win more this year. Dorian has done a great job putting this team together, and I can see them finishing 5th in the division. A few more tweaks and they should be a force to recon with

Hes not good, but OTT isnt in their competitive window.

This trade helps for 2 inconsequential years, and robs OTT of the gas to keep their window open longer.

OTT declines.
