I like the idea, but that isn't going to be enough for Dumba. Just because a team has protection issues doesn't mean they are just going to give up players for nothing. MIN would probably give up a prospect and/or picks to Vegas just to not select someone. Would you rather give up a second or first to keep Dumba or get Hagg/Laughton? I'd rather have Dumba and give up the picks. The NSH trade is interesting, but I don't see them having much interest in Schenn when they are pretty set at depth on the wings - I think they need centers. Personally, I'd rather have my second Rd. pick and just keep Weise than to give that up just to move him. If were moving picks for people to take players it better be for AMac. Lastly, you overpaid for a lot of players (i.e. Weal) and underpaid for others (i.e. Cousins/Ghost).

Don't want to get rid of Schenn for that at all.

Take away all of our mid round picks? Doesn't make any sense at all. Gone full Holgrem are we?

Weise isn't even rosterable at this point and nobody is taking AMac, not even for a 1st rounder. As for over/under paying people...Cousins is 23 and getting his 2nd contract. He has 1+6 points so far this year and isn't a proven shut down guy yet. Giving him anymore than what I did would be an overpay. As for Weal, if he continues to do what he is doing with the top line he will garner a raise and since he is a UFA and I don't want to lose him, paying a little over his worth is perfectly fine by me. Now on to Ghost...I think the contract is exactly where it has to be until he can prove he isn't a complete defensive liability in his own zone. Bridge him for 2-3 years then pay him the big bucks if he improves.

The team I have above is young and may really only need a winger and a centre. Guess what we currently have in the system...Rubtsov, Laberge, Lindblom and we will have 2 first round picks so if giving up those middle tier picks gets us the above and 2 firsts then ya I am all for it!
