Thought we were gonna see an emergency goalie there for a minute. Considering how it's going for Buffalo with an actual NHL goalie it might be a bit of a rough 3rd period if Subban was actually injured

Both lines play relatively same amount of minutes a game. So essentially they are both the 3.5th line.

I'll be frank though, I expect the Crunch to get blown out. Utica is insane.

Terrific win which can be broken down into 3 parts: 1) The offense: A+++. Stellar. Tore apart the Sabres D to shreds, perfectly placed shot after perfectly placed shot, Kuch with the hat trick, Top 6 absolutely shone and the bottom 6 was pretty good as well even if it didn't translate to the scoreboard (save for Perry's BEAUTIFUL assist for Kuch's 2nd goal). 2) The defense: Not as good as the score indicated, not bad at all but they gave up 3 breakaways in the 1st period alone (plus another in the 3rd), could've resulted in a closer game were it not for 3) Vasi. Just unreal. The only goal was a rocket he couldn't control that bounced right to the tape of Hinostroza who buried it. Another phenomenal game for the Big Cat. Hope that continues on Thursday vs. the 'Nucks.

4th) Cal Foote is the new 3rd (maybe 2nd) string goalie.

I was listening to SiriusXM NHL Network after the game, and they described last night as "a nice, clean, tidy win". Well, they clearly didn't watch the game, because that was a gritty, hard-fought victory. Canucks played tough throughout, and the Lightning got ZERO help from the refs, who missed Hughes throwing his stick about 20 feet down the ice on the 2-on-0, who missed Point getting hooked on his breakaway, and called the Lightning for multiple questionable calls (intentional offside on Cernak?! He didn't realize the ref on the OTHER SIDE OF THE ICE had called it, how is that intentional?). Nonetheless, Vasi was brilliant throughout once again, the PP continues to get good looks, the offense was a bit slow-especially in the 2nd-but did well overall-particularly in the 3rd-and the D was terrific, constantly blocking shots and making it tough for the Canucks to get looks at the net even when they were in the Lightning zone. Hope Cernak (and Palat) are ready for Saturday night against the Stars.

Cernak stays this banged up we might wanna look at some outside the box RHD options.

Definitely not a bad idea, but I don't know who they'd target, there aren't really any quality options on expiring deals save for Letang and Klingberg, and they're not cheap ($7.25 and $4.25 million cap hits respectively this year). Maybe they'd go for a cheap insurance piece like Chad Ruhwedel or Robert Bortuzzo.
