Description
Hyman-McDavid-Pulju has been a great line so far in pre season and should obviously be kept together

RNH-Drai-Yamo line has been ok in the pre season while also posting good results in the regular season

Foegele-Ryan-Perlini this line hasnt really played together but all 3 players individually have been solid players and could hopefully work well together.

Benson-McLeod-Kassian 2 players from the best line in the AHL last year + a potential bounce back player if they gain chemistry together.

Turris and Shore scratched due to lack of anything at 5v5.

Nurse-Bouchard was solid and we dont really have much to work with with this god awfl d core

Koekkoek-Barrie solid in the regular season last year

Keith-Ceci a couple guys who probably need to be sheltered to be even competent

Russell scratched because hes simply not better than Koekkoek

opening night bottom 6 will most likely be
Foegele-ryan-kassian
Perlini-Shore-Turris or Sceviour

Your comment about the other turris and shore doing nothing at 5X5 makes no sense seeing how they are both sitting at 4GF- 0GA at 5X5 while Benson is at 0GF-3GA and mcloed is at 0GF-2GA....
Benson and mcloed were given the inside track to make the team but have virtually done nothing this preseason....
Perlini is scoring is big and fast was well
Shore is doing well at center and kills penalties bring a physical dynamic that neither benson or mcloed bring
Turris would be in if you want a more offensive look and can moonlight down the middle
Sceviour would be in if you want a more defensive look and he kills penalties.

all 4 have been much better than benson or mcloed this preseason.

Ah yes leave off easily one of their best depth forwards (mcleod) in a crucial contending year because he didn't put up points in preseason

😑😖🙄

He has looked fantastic in terms of his skillset and does the little things beautifully, puck movement and awareness and quality off puck play, what a gem

Honestly I'd swap Ryan for McLeod especially given their ages and Kassian might as well fall off a cliff after hitting the big 3-0 it just seems very dicey with him

Turris has to bounce back also, right?

Weird seeing him become a literal ghost NHLer 👻

it is not just points the others have just flat out outplayed him benson as well.
I was actually excited he would be on the team. but how he has preformed coupled with he doesnt require waivers I see him starting in the A until there is an injury.

not seeing where you only see points... yes sorry i had some evidence to back up my position..... The main point against the oilers bottom 6 was mcdavid would get them the lead then they had to hope not to get scored on when he was off the ice.... so the 5X5 Gf-GA is very relevant.

also since he is young and a bottom 6 forward he doesnt make alot of headlines but here are 2 article today on where they are at
https://thehockeywriters.com/oilers-step-up-final-3-preseason-games/
https://oilersnation.com/2021/10/04/game-preview-6-0-edmonton-oilers-vs-calgary-flames-7pm-mt/

So im not the only one with this stance. Like i said I was hoping he would come in and even push ryan for the 3C but that hasnt happened.

Oilers fans are the worst for wanting to rush young players. It is actually a good thing this spot wont be gifted to him

it is not a good thing that he's not being given that role. He played that role last year near perfectly with a 53.47 xGF%.

you provide really good arguments here all you have said is he should be given the role.....

Sorry not how the NHL works nothing is given to you. he did not show up as ready or determined for that role as the others have.
Like a said young player some more time playing top minutes in the A will not hurt him. vs being in the stands here.

Great thank you for the pointless 1 games stat that means nothing.

Point of the game was they scored turned it around for the team something fancy stats don’t track. They had an impact something benson and McLeod have not done

its not just one game stats lol. you can look at 5v5 xGF% from last year and it will still show that McLeod is better lol.

Scoring a garbage goal that probably shouldn't have gone in does not make you a good player.

I had really high hopes for McLeod but I've been really disappointed with his pre-season. I'd rather give it to a vet that's performing right now, have McLeod work on the little things on the first line AHL and call him up once an injury hits or a vet stumbles. Take advantage of the waiver exemption. Better to have him working on his game in the AHL than struggling between the 4th line and press box.
