Detroit Series Part 3. Rank in League: 29
1st of all:
The Wings have a very exciting future with upcoming stars like Sieder, Veleno, Zadina and Raymond however they aren't quite there yet and don't have enough current star power to compete. Their best defenceman (Hronek) would not be the best defenseman on all playoff teams and their best player (Larkin) had the numbers of an average 2c last year. There isn't much concern for their future and they have a good goalie tandem to start the season. FInally they already have a decent amount of cap space but next year they have over $10 million coming of players who aren't great contributors. The biggest thing for them is to not rush the rebuild and to view this project as a project tat will take another 2 years.
Ideally we can trade Griess, or Leddy to playoff teams at the end of the year. There is a possibility that we could keep Griess though.
Plan for Resignings:
Fabbri: 4x 3,500,000 (good player who can be a perfect 3rd line contributor that can push to be a 2nd line contributor)
Zadina: 2x 2,000,000 (good young player and this is the perfect bridge deal)
Namestnikov: 2x 2,000,0000 (similar bridge deal contract as Zadina with less potential)
I think this season will be a building block for the Red Wings and that their young players will step up and play a major role. Their goalie tandem is underrated and I could see this team placing higher than 29th. Their major x-factor are all their young players. If they play well, the Red WIngs will probably be closer to the 20 spot however if they don't do well I could see them around 30.
Record projection: (34,W 42L, 6 OTL)
1. Why does Namest need a bridge contract, he'll be 29 by the end of his current one
2. Seider only gets 1 goal yet gets 21 assists? Did he become Mike Reilly overnight?
3. I see slightly lower expectations for Ned and slightly higher for Greiss
4. Lower your expectations for Raymond, it's likely he doesn't even make the roster let alone put up 25G and 55P

Good framework otherwise, nice job
Namestnikov needing a bridge made my laugh out loud.
