In what way? Vancouver isn't winning a cup any time soon, and that's a pretty incredible return. Gibson, Theodore, and Ritchie are all 8.0+ prospects, and VAN isn't winning a cup with the Sedins, barring a miracle. To be able to aggressively jumpstart a rebuild like that would be beautiful for VAN, and Anaheim seems like with Kes/Getz/Perry they should be willing to mortgage the future for a solid chance at a Cup or two.

Plus Van has the financial wherewithal to eat half the Sedin's salaries for three years if the return was good enough. Pipe dream anyway. No way this current regime goes full rebuild, despite the fact that moves like this could accelerate it in a hurry and get back bluechip pieces the fans could get excited about. A three year rebuild plan would coincide with a bunch of veteran dead weight contracts off the books, and in that third year you could start targeting UFA's and trades that retool the team in a hurry, ala Buffalo this year.

No I think/hope he meant it's dumb from Anaheim's prospective. You're not getting 3 elite prospects, 2 1st rounders and 2 roster players for the Sedins and Hamhuis(who they don't need) for one year. That would be an unprecedented haul.
