I think this is a fair trade, if not maybe a teensy bit more needs to be added on the Rangers end, but the question is if teams are willing to give up this many assests.

I'm not sure the Rangers would need to add anything. The more I think about this on the big picture, the Sabres will need to take a contract back in the deal, whether its Strome or in the rumored Vegas offer where Reilly Smith was in the deal to make the cap work. Depending on the length, it might be something where the Sabres then move that player (retain cap, especially on an expiring deal) to get additional assets.

This would be a a great trade for the rangers. Only value they are giving up is Kakko, Miller, and a 1st. Neither player coming back to Buffalo will ever be what Eichel is. So giving up that for Eichel is a steal. Would be silly for the Rangers not to do it.
