Still an overpay. I'd rather keep Samorukov and the 2nd and run Yamamoto in that 2RW spot. It's cheaper, the system is stronger and the team won't suffer on-ice.

He was one of the best defensemen in the KHL this year, he could easily be on the roster out of training camp next month. Romanov went from 3rd pairing KHL to 3rd pairing NHL pretty seamlessly, why do you think Samorukov can't go from top-4 KHL to 3rd pairing NHL?

because he needs to play top 6, because Bouchard, Keith and Ceci are too good to scratch , that's why we would trade him

None of those guys block Samorukov though. He'll be taking Kris Russell's job or playing in the AHL.
