Description
Basically Sign and Trade for Shattenkirk. I don't like the idea of giving up another first but by trading Klein and selling high on Holden you can recoup assets and the damage won't be that bad. I saw the Rangers were focusing in on Brendan Smith. Idk what the price would be just a pure guess, would love to add him though. And for the teams and prices for Klein/Holden, I just basically put random teams and guessed what they would possibly get. I based those prices off of Ron Hainsey getting a second yesterday.

Detroit got a 6th last year for Kindl who is not as good as Smith. I believe he is worth a third round pick but Kenny is a magician and I think if he can get a third and any additional picks it will be a win for Detroit.

gropp has been on a tear with seattle and wouldn't want to give him up. yes it could be a barzal-point based tear but still.. giving up him, puempel and a first rounder is something i'd be meh over.. rather sign him in the offseason for nothing.. brendan smith won't play over girardi lets be real-- even if he is better it wont happen due to coaching preference. rather see rangers do a trade to get barzal but lets be real here it'll never happen with the isles

Shatt has been turning down trades left and right because he won't agree to an extension. He is a rental so it's possible that is the value for him.

Hainsey got a 2nd and a prospect. Smith is better than Hainsey. Given the list of rental D is completely and utterly atrocious, not sure why Ken would accept less than a 2 + Prospect.
