Description

Not sure that Nashville agrees to this trade but it seems like they're on track for a rebuild rather than a shot at the cup. It is a 1-year rental of Ekholm + cap dump of John Moore for a boom/bust Debrusk, a (weak) Jarnkrok replacement, and a 1st + 2nd.

I really hope Krejci re-signs.

Dubnyk had a miserable year last year and only gets $1.5M because of it. Just one more veteran G just in case Rask doesn't come back. Swayman will get more action in Providence unless Ullmark/Dubnyk can't cut it.

Not sure what to do about RD. I hate the Forbort signing (for his AAV) but that's what Sweeney gave us.

A perfect off-season is no longer possible. Ekholm is an awesome addition, but a perfect off season doesnt have 3x3 committed to a healthy scratch, nor does it have $20M dedicated to a goalie that in the bruins ideal world would be a backup.

Do i have to hold your hand and walk you through this?
Rask has emphatically said he wants to come back. If he comes back healthy, there really isn’t a scenario that I can see where Ullmark is the better goalie. Expensive back up. And that’s the bruins ideal situation.

You can say goalie x y or z is a starter, but if they’re on a team with a goalie that’s better than they are, then they aren’t.
