No chance I would give that much up for Halak. He is the third string goalie on the Islanders.

I doubt St. Louis would take Elliott back with Jake Allen looking much better, and no chance they give up Shattenkirk for that little. Pouliot looks nowhere near NHL ready, and for being 23, he is looking more and more like a bust.

You would think they Blues need Shattenkirk for a playoff push rather than those two players and what close to a 30th pick which might be meaningless.
IMO Halak is an NHL goalie. Isles were trying to waive just for cap space, but he has been stellar in the AHL. Come the summer, a team that has to expose a goalie or even want goalie help for one year could find a real deal getting Halak. Yea his 4.5m for one year might scare off some people, but Calgary are looking for goalies and even the Leafs have the cap room might be interested in him as a backup .
