Because they're not competitive anyways. That shouldn't be the issue with the trade, there are way too many moving pieces.

The Avs would have to include Iggy in that. Or take out Juulsen. I keep on seeing Juulsen part of the package for Duchene alot around here, the problem is he's a RD. Johnson and Barrie occupy the top 2 RD. I guess if the Avs got their hands on him they can always trade Barrie in a couple of years. His 5.5 mill contract isn't that awful
