      Couldn't you get more for Filppula? Also the emergence of Paquette should make Callahan redundant. I would trade him as. Maybe Filppula and Callahan in a package deal for a top 4 d-man. Keep Bishop for another year to Vasilevsky to see if he's the real deal.

      I know there is a perception that teams HAVE to sign their UFAs. But maybe it may not be worth it if it screws your cap and lineup. Knowing Stamkos is a special player, but worth double than any other TB player?
      Winnipeg is young Dman rich and wouldn't need Carle.
      Like Filppula, but at 5m and aging couldn't see many teams including NJ taking him.
      See it isn't easy getting rid of expensive spare parts (see Chicago)
