Description
This team would be absolutely stacked. Alot of luck in the free agent market required. If you can't land Landeskog there's other options out there like Coleman or Hyman.bRound about way to possibly landing Tkachuk without having to give up Thomas or Kyrou. Calgary would be getting three young former 1st round picks and a 16th overall pick. This may be more appealing to them than an aging injury plagued Vladi. Also this would save them some more cap space. Debrusk still has alot of upside/potential. Frederic would get some of that spunk back they'd lose from Tkachuk, same with Kostin who has alot of offensive potential.

Possibly. We could throw in another piece/pick. Swap out for a more valuable piece like Kyrou or Thomas, just would really want to avoid losing them. There's a way to make a deal work.

If thats the price for Tkachuk (its not, just hypothetically) why would the Bruins go for Tarasenko instead of shelling out the rest for a healthy Tkachuk since half of the package is from the Bruins anyway

I don't see Flames trading Tkachuk anytime soon. He doesn't want out we don't need the cap space. We have no reason to trade him baring a MASSIVE overpay

It probably takes more/something else. But maybe Bruins could find a way to get him. But like you said, that's 1/2 the package and I know Bruins aren't to keen on giving out a 1st round pick and if the price got to that/more they'd probably be out on it because they don't need a top 6 winger as badly.

Tkachuk is not moving, your not getting that return for Taresanko with no retention and Krug is 100% staying

They probably need to shake things up and have heard there's some worry about Tkachuk and Johnny's contracts. If they miss the playoffs next year or have a 1st round exit then they'll definitely give it more consideration.

I'm not posting this as a totally realistic possibility, more so just having fun with it. In this case though even, the blues still have a little bit of cap space to play with so retaining some of his contract is doable

Look people, no **** the odds of ANYTHING on this happening are tiny. It's a dream of an off season. Landy likely stays in Colorado, Tkachuk likely stays in Calgary (for now) and the odds of Krug being moved are extremely slim. Armstrong has made big moves in the past, but I don't actually see him doing anything very exciting this off-season outside of losing Tarasenko and potentially Dunn.

still non of these trades have any value at all to many Pieces going to STL in the Tarasenko trade to little going to CGY in the Tkachuk trade.

Disagree with your first statement. Get how that's likely not enough for Tkachuk. What would you have Boston sending for Vladi? Because if all Army could get for a consistent 30-40 goal scorer, regardless of injuries and drama regarding them is Debrusk and a late pick then he'll just keep him.

consistent pre injury. He's been injured two years in a row and injured the same shoulder multiple times. Shoulder injuries are not kind to hockey players, so there is going to be concern. His production over the last two seasons averaged out to a 17 goal pace for 82 games. That's a far cry from 30-40 goals. Could he return to 30G form? sure, but he could also be damaged goods and never reach 30G again. $7.5 million for a guy who maybe a 30G guy but maybe a sub 20G guy is a HUGE gamble.

He hadn't played a whole lot in 2 years and wasn't playing the same role when he returned. If he's used appropriately, gets a full camp and time to get back going he's a lock for 20-30 goals without being much of a defensive liability, can forecheck, win puck battles and has good play making ability. 7.5 is a lot but not for the upside/production you should get. Obviously you have people look at his shoulder very closely and make sure you have a bit of confidence that he'll be good to go. He played enough to atleast show he's not broken already and showed flashes of his extreme talent. His contract is only 2 more years so in that regard it's fairly safe. You could have some sort of contingency thrown in to compensate if he reinjures/way underperforms. And if his shoulder goes bad again, it would definitely be an LTIR so you'd atleast get your cap space back. I honestly think he's the exact kind of guy/contract you take the gamble on if you're trying to put your team over the top.

I've never seen a team have w compensation if a player gets hurt or under performs. Again shoulder injuries are very tough to on hockey players. To expect/be confident Tarasenko will be back to his old production is a stretch. Could he? Sure, but its far from a lock that he will.

They can be and some players get through them and return to form. Screen grab this for later, I'd seriously bet on it but I don't have **** to gamble away. Tarasenko gets 30+ goals this season and I would prefer it be with the Blues, but it seems there's no way the player team issue is going to be resolved at this point.

Again he very well could, but I also look at his ixG/60 and its dropped the last 2yrs, which tells me his quality of shots he's taking is lower. Even his iSCF/60 has gone down the last 2 years as well as his shooting%, which was the worst of his career this past year. Huge gamble in my opinion and lets say he does get hurt again and goes on LTIR like you said earlier....Boston has traded to NHL roster players with really nothing to show for it except for cap space.
