Also your whole expansion draft argument makes no sense. None of the players going to BUF in this package need to be protected, and ANA has the open protection slots.

Note that the trade isn't just for Eichel it's Reinhart too. If both are healthy (and happy) you're talking 80-90 goals and 160-180 points between the two. They also get a 4th and get rid of the last year of Kessler's deal.

I still think they trade Korpi. They planned on using Kivi as backup, they can get a backup in FA or part of a package trade with another team. I am not sure I see the plan to trade one of the two goalies changing.
