Especially if STL is taking Hickey. I think the Blues would add Sanford too if Wilde was added over Bolduc. Sanford would be a nice 3LW for cheap.

We would LOVE Sanford. But with the Parise news, I suspect he becomes our 3LW. Just to confirm, the Blues would do the below?

Tarasenko
Sanford

for

Eberle
Bellows
Wilde
Hickey
2022 2nd

No thanks to either trade. Would much rather keep ebs than move him 1 for 1 for tarasenko.

Its high risk but Tarasenko can be a 30+ goal scorer again, this is the trade that allows them to beat the Lightning. Eberle is not going to get it done moving forward. Isles have a 2 year window.

Why dont you go take a look at the numbers that lee-barzal-eberle lkne produced either starting from last playoffs or especially this season (before lee went down). There is absolutely no need to move eberle so long as lee is ready to go.

27-13-7
18-29-12
Golyshev-44-26
17-53-15

3-6 40
Ufa-8 30
Salo-24

This is the lineup realistically that i want.

Eberle
Regular Season:
2019-2020: 58GB 16G 24A 40P (22G 33A 56P over a 82 game season
2020-2021: 27GP 9G 7A 16P ( 27G 21A 48P over a 82 game season)
(Before Lee's Injury)
Playoffs:
2018-2020 30 GP 9G 14PA 23P

Tarasenko:
Regular Season:
2017-2018: 80GB 33G 33A 66P
2018-2019: 76GB 33G 35A 68P
Playoffs:
2017-2019: 30GP 11G 6A 17P

You get Tarasenko for the upgrade in Goal production but if he is severely injured and his points goes down in the early 50s than it hard to say that it is an upgrade.
You only do the trade if there is same amount of salary going both ways. 5,5 million.

Yeah, gotta think paying Parise let's say 750,000 would be better for your cap than Sanford at a lil less than 2 mil.

My ideal move for the Blues and Islanders would be a 3 way with a team that has cap.

Stl - Eberle, Bellows and Wilde

Nyi - Tank at 5.5

3rd team - 2nd for retaining 2.5 m of Tanks contract.

Id rather be sure about eberle also knowing he works well with barzy and lee. In addition he doesnt have major injury concerns.
Those numbers are pretty similar especially if you take into account that 1/2 of eberles numbers were during covid while all of tarasenkos numbers werent.

Tarasenko
19-20 - 10GP 3G 7A 10P
20-21 - 24GP 4G 10A 14P

Eberle
17-18 - 81GP 25G 34A 59P
18-19 - 78GP 19G 18A 37P

Tarasenko over the past 2 years has put up decent numbers (though not the goal scoring which is why we would trade for him) but hes played 34 out of a whopping 127 games over the past 2 years. No thank you. If he comes at 50% retained for a 2nd and a prospect ill do it (or up to 4.5 million) but more than that and im out. My reasoning for this is that i wouldnt play tarasenko on the top line (unless he looks like hes back to form in which case i would switch it up maybe). I would either play him at RW2 (which makes sense to me) with beau and nelson, or RW3 with jg and wahlstrom.
(All my numbers are regular season only. Didnt have the patience to look for playoff numbers.)

Thats why Lou has to look at the medical reports first, this is assuming he is healthy.

I'll miss Tank but I think it's best for both if he moves on. I like the idea of having Ebs play'n 3RW and gives Kyrou 2RW minutes plus get a couple young guys with potential.

With the reports of Landeskog and COL far apart I do think that the Blues would love to sign him so if they can, they might want to move Tank more for picks and/or prospects but if not I like the parameters of this deal.

Tarasenko went on to score 4 goals in 24 games after he had the surgery that supposedly fixed his shoulder. I wouldn't give Tarasenko 5.5 mill x 2 if he was a UFA right now, a lot of these trades are significant overpays

Even if hes healthy the guy scored 4 goals in 24 games when he was supposedly healthy, thats a 14 goal pace over a full season. Id give up what i am based on pedigree and the possibility that he really was still injured.
