The leafs could offer sheet him for one second-rounder and apparently Arizona doesn't want to pay him so they could get him at a better price.

The thing about offer sheeting a player is that he actually has to sign the deal. He's coming off a season where he was on pace for 65 pts/82 games. 3 x $4 seems prettttty shy.

Also, where did you see that Arizona doesn't want to pay him?

https://thehockeywriters.com/maple-leafs-adding-garland-improve-forward-depth/. Ya they could do 1or 2 times 4 because it was only one good year. He could take a prove-it deal and rack up points.

Oh no way. That’s a worse deal than the first one. Giving up the first isn’t my concern, giving up Bratt is. Bratt isn’t going anywhere. The price for Wood was a 1st and prospect at the deadline and Bratts value would be even greater
