Description
Suzuki is extended as soon as possible. A defensive upgrade would be nice but sadly cap space is a thing. Perry and Staal aren’t brought in with the idea of playing them regularly, but rather as players that can be iced come playoff time or if the lineup needs a shakeup. Gustafson is brought back as an extremely cheap powerplay booster if the PP is really bad and the D needs a shake up. I’d like to upgrade the defense but that sadly isn’t really possible due to cap space, so I’d have to bank on one of Fleury, Harris or Romanov stepping up their game (which is very possible). A rental LD and reserve forward would probably be acquired at the deadline.

Détails additionnels:
No one really knows Tarasenko’s trade value right now for obvious reasons, but from the very quick research I’ve did this seems somewhat reasonable and realistic. Let me know if I’m wrong.

Détails additionnels:
Love Byron but he makes too much money. He’s still a good player, so a pick should get it done for Seattle. Seattle gets a good bottom 6 forward who’s slightly overpaid and trade up 3 rounds in exchange of taking on the cap space, seems like a decent pay off for Seattle to me.

Montreal is not trading their 2022 first in a year they’re gonna play in a mostly stacked division and Tarasenko is not going to fetch as much a B prospect and a 2022 first from a team that could miss the playoffs, since he has a very concerning injury history and his trade request.

So if you think we're gonna miss the playoff. Idk why u try to fetch a guy with tons of injury. I'd prefer to push and give more to someone younger.

There was nothing shown this year that would suggest bringing back Gustafson should even be considered. Also theres no reason to lose Chairot, expose weber, or pay seattle to take byron in the expansion draft, if we were to enter next season with the d you have above theres very little chance we are making the playoffs, at which point that tarasenko trade is just lost assets.
