I had also considered including Hertl and a 1st as well. In hindsight, that might have made it a little bit more plausible. If the Leafs were gonna trade Marner to the Sharks specifically, what do you think SJ would have to give up? I'd be interested to hear.

Lol probably not. This was my first trade simulation. I highly doubt the Leafs would give up Marner to anyone, even though he can't perform in the playoffs. SJ would probably have to throw Karlsson, Hertl, or a 1st round pick into the mix for the Leafs to even consider trading Marner to them. (Now if Peter Chiarelli was the Leafs GM...)

This trade wouldn't even happen in EA NHL 19, 20, or 21.
