I understand why Canuck fans will hate it but the Canucks badly need a cheap 3rd line centre

Except he wasn't even a 3C on the Oilers why the hell do you think the Canucks would want him

    Explain?
Saad and Kessel both can score and have cup experience that the Oilers badly need and McGinn gives Draisaitl a bigger winger that can score and Ullmark is more then capable backup and cheaper then Koskinen

Desperation, low cap hit and he’s a centre
He can’t be worse then Sutter or Beagle

You could find a center on the FA market for 2mil that is way better than Turris. Trading for a center just cause he might be slightly better than Beagle is such a dumb mentality

It’s also the Canuck front office mentality, I can totally see Benning doing this trade after trading for OEL and having no cap space

Sutter isn't that bad of a player when he is healthy. He would probably resign for less than Turris, or they would have better options available.
Kessel has probably quite a bit of trade value, more than most people would expect. First year in Arizona didn't go so well, didn't have much to play with either, this year he put up good numbers. He would be a nice fit for the oilers but they would need to add some positive value to the trade. Russell is ok for a depth defenceman now but those are a dime a dozen right now. Koskinen and his contract being negative value, so if you want to have them in they trade you will definitely need to add alot more.
Yamamoto is underpaid, Larsson is overpaid, ullmark is underpaid, mcginn is overpaid in my opinion anyways. And Staal is way overpaid and that term. The direction is right just some things don't work out.

Arizona wants to drop payroll like crazy and they get Russel because they only have 3 defenseman signed and Koskinen to be their starter because they are most likely going to trade Kuemper for draft picks at the draft and they are saving like $4 Million in salary
Larsson is overpaid because he is going to get that on the open market
But Saad and Kessel are who the Oilers need with cup experience and scoring touch
