Détails additionnels:
Seen some Flames fans with interest in Eberle. He's a player that would benefit playing in a system with a more wide open style of play. He's definitely one of the Isles more skilled forwards, just don't think he's giving them the production they need from someone playing 1st line mins making $5.5m

I don’t see how you move Ladd without a first attached unless an equally bad contract is going the other way. Maybe he goes LTIR?

While I agree that Eberle will be gone , he does not play 1st line minutes. Josh Bailey does, do you think he's giving the islanders the production they need from someone playing 1st line minutes?

Ladd's contract is horrible, it cannot be bought out.

The price for taking him off your hands would be high and even though Aho isn't a bad defender I don't think he's a good fit in Detroit.
If you swap Bode Wilde for Aho I think there's a reasonable chance that Detrot say yes.

To add onto this. Yzerman based on his drafting/trading for defensemen he tends to favor size if you look at his track record. I think the smallest D he drafted so far in Detroit is Johansson at 6’. Bode Wilde played for Saginaw and Osgood + Devellano are co-owners of the club so I’m sure they have a good grasp on Wilde which is why so many thought Perfetti to Detroit made sense (plus Draper’s a family friend).

Although im not even sure this would be enough to move Ladd out of NY, Detroit was really just used as a placeholder. Just wanted to get an idea of what people thought about being able to move his contract in a package like this

Most would argue no, especially not 1st line production. But I do think with the way they're both utilized, Bailey probably provides more value right now. When Eberle isn't scoring, he's usually invisible. Bailey plays PP, PK and statistically, even though the goals aren't always there, his production has been pretty solid. Definitely frustrating to watch at times but with the way he's stepped up the last 2 postseasons and the loyalty he's shown to this team through some awful years early on, I have a hard time thinking they'd move him over Eberle.

Eberle was one of the best forwards in the NHL at generating high danger scoring chances. He was also top 12 in 5v5 goals , ahead of deaisatl, Crosby, tavares, and guentzel. He’s also better than bailey on the powerplay, and yeah he doesn’t play on the PK but bailey is below average on the PK. Eberle is better at generating offense and he’s better defensively than Bailey. Bailey was the islanders worst defensive forward in the playoffs.

It definitely is possible they choose to move Eberle instead of Bailey because of loyalty, which is stupid but it is what it is. I don’t think the isles should be subtracting skilled players who can execute simple plays like exit and entering the zone with possession.
