Description

1, Keith to VAN to be near family in Kelowna. VAN offloads Holtby's contract to even salary, and throws in a 2nd. This could be tweaked, but seems like fair value for Keith as a mentor and 3/4D.
2. Hawks trade for Lindholm as Keith's replacement. Strome and Kalynuk + two picks seems like a fair value to me, but if not, Kalynuk could be swapped for Beaudin.
3. Gonna keep doing Z for Butcher, because it makes too much sense for both sides.
4. This lineup allows the Hawks to stave off LTIR until opening day, giving a lot more roster flexibility. If they opted not to do that, I would imagine they might pursue Saad and or take on a Neal-esque contract in exchange for value.

When Toews gets off LTIR Blackhawks won't the Blackhawks have a projected cap hit off 86 million? With a few RFA's and possible moves in FA to explore this offseason, it seems to me that they're quite screwed in regards to the cap. Thus they would have to pay Kraken / Vancouver a lot for taking on Keith's contract, there's no assets coming back to Chicago for sure, except for the cap space.
