Bobby Ryan: B+ Ryan had a solid year in Detroit before injuries caught up to him, he did have a mid-season slump but overall a solid depth scorer
Thomas Greiss: A, Greiss had a solid year where Detroit really didn’t help him a lot, he and Bernier are a solid tandem,
Jon Merril: B, Good Top 6 Defenceman option, pure rental, still believe Detroit could’ve gotten more for him at the TDL but that’s just me
Troy Stecher: C+ a quiet year from Stecher, nothing to special with this signing
Vlad Namestnikov: B- Like Stecher, quiet season from him just believe he did a bit better defensively than Stecher

Overall, Solid FA from Detroit, nothing special though

Valtteri Filppula: D-, Filppula just downright didn’t fit in with Detroit at all, even as bad as that 19-20 team was, he wasn’t the same Filppula from his tenure in NYI or Philadelphia,
Patrick Nemeth: B- again, very quiet, but one of the better Detroit Defenceman for his tenure,
Overall, 50/50

2018
Jonathan Bernier: A+, Bernier was Detroit’s MVP from 19-20 and all around very solid when in the net, and he likes Detroit, Keep him, he’s a worthy goalie to keep around
Tomas Vanek, B just there for a cup of coffee again
Overall, very good FA for Detroit


2017
Trevor Daley: D- Daley was 33 at the time of his signing and was declining at a hard rate, and it showed at the end of year 3, Holland, just yikes

Frans Neilson: C-, Honestly, Frans Neilson wasn’t that bad for the first 3 years of the contract, he was better than Okposo, Eriksson, Lucic, etc, but now it’s started to get really rough, honestly would’ve surprised if he is bought out, but Detroit really doesn’t have a lot of cap issues now, they can live is contract
Tomas Vanek: B, there for a cup of Coffee

Overall, Detroit’s a middle of the road team in free agency, some good, but if there bad, they are really bad
