Strome won't be traded for that return, it would take a minimum 2nd + 3rd if paying solely in picks.

For sure, that's why I'd take that and run. He'll definitely get into that range for picks unless he gets a similar roster play or a decent prospect package.

Yeah I could definitely see Reichel going in a package. Hawks would probably still have to give up one of Mitchell/Beaudin/Kalynuk/Stillman. I still think Buffalo would need Dach to be the main centerpiece of the package

Yeah I probably am undervaluing Strome a little bit. I guess as a fan that watches him every night I’m kind of down on him as a player. He probably gets traded for another player in a similar situation as him like some of the other reclamation projects in the past. If I’m a GM I’m not even giving up a second rounder for Strome although I bet there’s a GM out there that would. A name I keep coming back to is Jake Debrusk and I wonder how much Boston thinks that his value is worth.

DeBrusk is someone I would look at but I value Strome higher and that could be a contentious view.
