Moving out - getting worse to get better later

Description
Do not think we are getting much winning done with this group so time to move on.

Taking on Gudas / Ghost / Jarry is to make money work. Look for interest for JG at trade deadline.

Pitty does it cuz they need one last kick at the can with Crosby and co and goaltending did them in this playoffs.

Philly was a defensive disaster and Gio helps (legit top 4 if not top 2) even with aging. Taking Ghost pushes second rounder to 1st.

Florida has potential and is in win now mode (IMO). Adding Tkachuk to that group would be major to pair with Barkov or Huberdeau - have to pay for it though

I am aware of the unlikely nature of these scenarios. Especially happening at once and tried not to overvalue flames players with rose colored glasses. Fun though!

I am sure flames fans so no and other teams fans say no LOL

You think? Need more current players? More picks? I thought roster player, top prospects, and two decent selections was close to market value.

Why would we trade our young power forward who's being pampered to be next captain for a whole lot of question marks.

That’s literally highway robbery of the pens. Absolutely not even close. You want the pens to take Markstrom then Calgary should be adding lol. Markstrom ain’t worth a top prospect that’s nhl ready, a decent goalie prospect, a 2nd, and a starting goalie that’s better than Markstrom and on a better contract. No thanks

Better than Markstrom?? Hahahahaah good one.

Jarry is the next Murray. He had one good year and trending toward bust.

Because you don't get good prospects and picks by trading bad players. No one is paying that for Monahan right now and with JG's specific style and size, its tougher to find fit. I would prefer to trade either over Tkachuk. Just so we are on the same page.

Unfortunately, the prospect and pick route can be dicey

That's some pens colored glasses right there. Said with love. Granted he actually MADE the playoffs but had a .888% against the islanders......

And your point? Markstrom had a 0% in the playoffs. And Jarry he a better save percentage than Markstrom in the regular season the past two season’s and played well in his only postseason game last season. So no pens colored glasses, just facts.

In one season where the flames were a dumpster fire from awful coaching? He was closer to a .915+ under Sutter and carried the canucks last postseason.

Meanwhile Jarry sunk like a rock in the playoffs.

Edit: he was actually the flames MVP until he got overworked and injured during that rough stretch.
