They could also take Clarke here because of the trade speculation involving Seth Jones, but I don't see Eklund falling past 5th overall. | |
| 6 |  | - | Detroit will immediately form their future top-pair of the future. Edvinsson will fit perfectly alongside Seider for the next 10 years. He is inconsistent sometimes, but Edvinsson has the potential to become a top-pairing defenseman. Great size, physicality, and mobility. | |
| 7 |  | - | Sharks 100% take Wallstedt if he's available. They probably have the worst goalie tandem in the NHL. Jones isn't getting any better and Korenar hasn't proven himself to be a reliable NHL starter. Wallstedt has franchise potential. | |
| 8 |  | - | THIS IS THE SENATORS PICK!!!!! Reportedly the Senators want Brandt Clarke, so they trade up and get him. Honestly its the best choice for the Senators, they don't have any high-quality RD in their system. Both Brannstrom and Bernard-Docker haven't proven themselves as top-pairing defenseman, Clarke could be that top-pair defenseman to play alongside Chabot. Very offensive, can make smart plays in the offensive zone. | |
| 9 |  | - | Canucks take a player that is sometimes compared to Elias Pettersson. So why not have Johnson be mentored under Pettersson himself? I predict that Johnson will be another faller in this draft because of the fact that he won't finish college hockey until the 2023-24 season. Also there are concerns involving his skating. The playmaking and creativity is there however. Once he makes the NHL, Johnson will be an entertaining player to watch. | |
| 10 |  | - | Kings have a deep prospect pool, but not much winger depth. A bit off-the-board, but this is the perfect complement to Byfield. Have Byfield as the passer and Sillinger as the finisher. Sillinger has great hockey IQ and goal-scoring ability. Lucius is also an option, but there are concerns regarding his health and skating. Lysell is another option, but he's undersized. I expect both players to fall out of the top 10. | |

Ceulemans is another great option, but like Johnson, he won't finish college hockey until the 2023-24 season. That will be too long for the Jets to wait, especially when their isn't great defensively. In my opinion, Lambos would also take 1 year to develop. Very capable defensively, just needs to be better offensively. Also a lot of upside. | |
| 13 |  | - | The Flames take the perfect complement to Zary. Lucius's goal-scoring ability matches well with Zary's playmaking. Lucius has also drawn comparisons to Flames forward Elias Lindholm, so why not be mentored under Lindholm himself? | |

Another faller here, McTavish won't be picked in the top 10 because there are concerns involving his skating. However, he's projected to be a reliable top-six center. | |

It is a risky pick as well because of the skating issues, but Bowman has shown he's willing to take risks with last year's off-the-board pick of Lukas Reichel. | |
