Hamilton over Rielly is an upgrade on the back end in every way possible. Hyman seems priced out of Toronto so use his money to get players similar in style that haven’t put up his offensive numbers over last couple years. Maybe playing with stars unlocks some offensive potential in them maybe not but their still good Hyman lite options in that their job will be to be responsible defensively, be heavy on the forecheck, retrieve pucks, and create havoc around the net. These players would be my target options but can be any players in the age range and playing style that can be afforded around these numbers. Also gives Leafs prospects time to develop and make sure they aren’t thrown in lineup too soon.
