I am assuming most teams don't want to spend to the Cap due to Covid, hence the $8M in cap space left. This team isn't built for playoffs, more so to let the kids play aka Mittelstadt, Cozens and Patrick being their top 3 C

Can't NJ just sign some Vets for 1 year? They could use 2 or 3 anyway

I did an ideal offseason ACGM where I signed 4 free agents (Foote, Coleman, Martinez, and Andersen) and we were barely over the cap floor

It all depends on how he plays this year

I expect it to be 6.5x3. Then we lock him up 10x8

Hope he doesn't pull a Niedermayer & heads off to play with one of his brothers. NJ is a great place to live, but with a contract like that, taxes matter.

Lol, that would be crazy. Those kids can really skate. It would be fast break hockey at the Rock. Poor Blackwood would have a nervous breakdown.

I know Fitzgerald will be under enormous pressure to pick Luke, but Hughes probably isn't the fourth best prospect. I wouldn't be surprised to hear another name ... just not sure Fitz can pass on the PR opportunity & strategically, it helps resign Jack LT one day. It seems fait accompli.

Yes, but I may need a few drinks at game time to stay calm. That would be some serious pace to keep up with.
