Snark all you want, but no one is paying a first rounder and a top 9 center for a 27 yr old defenseman on a 1 yr, $5m deal in a flat cap world. Like Reilly is very good, and in a pre covid world maybe you can get that return, but with him being 28 when his next deal needs to be signed, the team that acquires him now is only doing so if they can sign him long term, and why pay that price when he is obviously going to UFA in a year.

such a high price for a top 5 offensive defenceman in the league. price should be more around a 3rd rounder, maybe even a 4th. definitely will take your advice, a 2nd rounder is wayyyy too much to pay. one of the best bargain deals in the league is paid way too much, no team is willing to take on his insane $5M cap hit. and yes i get it, 28 is the new 35. insane world in this covid NHL we live in

You can get snarky all you want...the bottom line is the Pens currently have just over $13M tied up in LD, $11.65M in RD and that is only 5 total d-men. They do not need, or want Reilly, so unless it is a major bargain, the Pens are not interested.
