I didn’t necessarily say Grundstrom + Turcotte is better than Reinhart. What I’m saying is Turcotte + Grundstrom combined have more trade value than Rienhart. Reinhart is a solid player no doubt. However, the potential of Turcotte is very high and has a great season in the AHL. Of course that doesn’t mean anything for the NHL but the kid is expected to be elite. That’s why is value is high. Grundstrom looks like a great player as Well, I see him being a solid top 9 maybe even top 6 player in several years.
And to hockey_hippy... I would take Brown over Skinner any day. Brown has leadership, is a veteran who knows the game very well, can throw hits when needed, can play in front of the net. So what Skinner scored 40 goals two season ago? That means nothing. Brown is better than Skinner in every way besides maybe skating.
Bottom line - Turcotte/Byfield should not be traded as the future is unexpected. Next thing you know Turcotte is scoring 30-40 goals a season. Who knows. I would wait another season or two before considering a trade unless it includes big names like Eichel or Laine/Jones
