The issue with beau is that hes an inconsistent producer in the regular season. I know its trotz and this and that but at the end of the day hes inconsistent. I think varly will be moved i just wanted to make this acgm as uncontroversial as possible to get feedback on the bracco idea.

Yes, and he had 8 points in the 22 games prior to that hot streak. If that's not inconsistency I don't know what is.

Including the playoffs he has 31 pts in his last 35 games. He also increases the rate his team scores goals at an elite rate. Most players in the NHL are “streaky”. Beauvillier is a fringe top line winger and deserves to get paid long term

for most players "streaky" means going on a cold stretch for 10 games or so, not disappearing for half of a season offensively. Don't get me wrong, he's a great player for the islanders and does deserve to get paid long term, as the more experience he gets the more consistent he can become. But disagreeing with him being inconsistent is is the wrong take. The fact remains, he is hot right now and this will only help the islanders in their push to get past Boston.

He does not disappear for half the season, his play driving is pretty consistent throughout the season, and even when he’s not putting up points he’s doing things that lead to goals. The analytics back that up - he’s 2nd to only barzal in GF\60, both Nelson + bailey sucked without Beauvillier. Beau is the one that drives that line.
