Quoting: Dzinger18
Depends, what could the potential package coming from the leafs be?
Talking to a few Hawks fans, we've landed on two ideas. One is very extreme and the other is a little extreme. I think both are beneficial for both sides, but I dont think Dubas does either.
Trade #1:
CHI: Receives Nylander + Liljegren
TOR: Receives Strome + Mitchell + Beaudin + 2021 1st (11th OA) + 2020 3rd
Trade #1 is the extreme trade that I cant see happening simply for the fact Dubas is so high on his core forward group. I like this trade because it frees up a bit of cap and potentially allows the Leafs to select McTavish. Strome is also no pushover. Chicago gets a very good defensive prospect and a highly capable top 6 winger.
Trade #2:
CHI: Receives Rielly + Dermott
TOR: Receives 2021 1st (11 OA)
If Dubas doesn't want to move on from this forward group, but still send a message, he trades Rielly. From the input I got from Hawks fans, they need a driving #1 Defenseman which Rielly is capable of. This frees up cap for the Leafs, makes room for Sandin and other defensive prospects, and gives them the chance to potentially draft McTavish. Also seems very unlikely, but it's fun to dream
