As long as the fourth line is our best line we are toast. Sid’s line will not improve with Kapanen. Sid had no space when he’s out there. We need someone who can create space and someone who’s willing to take out the likes of Clutterbutt and Martin. That is Tanev who needs to be on Sid’s line. Rust and Zucker can be with Geno while McCann and Kap would fit best with Carter. Put Gaudreau on the 4th line

I don't think Tanev opens up space for the top line. They really need the 2nd and 3rd line to play more physical. Out islanders the islanders.
It's clear our 1st line is incapable of dealing with the goonery. This isn't a NYI issue. This is a 3 straight years issue and the coach is too stupid to figure it out issue.
We simply can't keep doing this, it won't end well. We'll have the same problem every team we face from here on out. It doesn't matter if it's NYI, WSH, BOS, TB, whoever. They will bring the same game plan.
This team needs to play heavier on all 3 lines to draw those lines off of Sid. At a bare minimum we need the 3rd line to join the 4th line in hitting people hard.
The other team can't play their game when their lines are getting hit left and right. They have to change how they match up because Barzal picking his teeth up every shift doesn't work for NYI either.
