Thats a lot to give ullmark. I would really wanna look at the market if thats what it costs- both term and aav. I think there are fair but tough questions about his durability that complicate this. Plus tokarski cannot be the backup, he could get 40 starts and lose 30, i just dont expect him to make timely saves, we need a real backup, one that can play 40 games if needed. Theres enough work that needs to be done to the roster, i think league average goaltending is fine, but we could be set up for disaster here. Id love a top 3 pick next year, but i dont wanna tank for it.

It is high price for him, I agree with your 'questions', but I am not sure who else would be available as a good medium term #1 goalie if they allow him to go to free agency. Overpaying a bit could secure the position before free agency.

There is probably enough room even at that price for Ullmark to add Brossoit, I imagine you could steal him away for a little over 2M... He is certainly unproven as far as playing as much as 40 game, but he seems like one of the better backups around the league these days.
