Vegas wouldn't make that trade next year as we're giving up cheap depth and taking cap back, then flipping Holden as a rental the next season. Better for the cap situation for both teams.
Minnesota have 2 goalies, but neither are long-term consistent options. In the event that either underperform the next season, it makes sense to get a rental G that they could re-sign if needed.
The Calgary trade would only be considered ridiculous with recency bias, Max Domi is a proven top six forward that could fit with Calgary especially with underperfoming center depth.
Ottawa has the capability to take a bloated contract with the potential of the player rebounding, Nyquist is a solid player that could regain form and then be flipped later on.
