Description
I think the flyers have what it takes to win the cup if they add some pieces at TDL.
1. Flyers really need a top 6 winger to play on the top line. I thought that this trade made sense for both sides as the flyers get JVR and the maple leafs get a solid backup goalie (when he is back to healthy condition) Nick Schultz is their to even out the cap but could be a decent bottom pairing defence men if necessary and a pretty decent prospect that never panned out in Philly in Scott Laughton.
2. Dale Weise hasn't worked in Philly and I moved him to eliminate some cap. I thought Washington needed some help on the right side but their could be a better option out there I just need him not on the team
3. I've seen this float around the rumor mill before and I like Spooner as a top 9 scorer. Also Boston needs some puck moving defencemen.
4. Colorado is in shambles right now and this would be a good trade for a rebuild. Robert Hagg is a pretty solid top 4 d-man prospect and nick cousins could slid into their top 9 and he is only 23 years old (I think). also the first and the 2nd is a great return for the avs. Barrie is a much needed top 4 right handed d'man the flyers need and the pieces they give up won't hurt them much as they have lots of prospects at centre and defence. Also they get a solid top 9 winger in read although he is their more for cap reasons.

Barrie is all offense and the Flyers need a defensive RHD. Spooner adds nothing to the Flyers. JVR would work but don't think the leafs need a goalie since they have Bibeau making progress.

Why would the caps take on Dale Weise's contract (let alone any team in the league)

Seriously mulletmario, if you are Colorado and Toronto do you make those deals? Both teams could do a lot better.

Lets break it down:
Neuvirth is at the end of his contract (will hit the open market) Shultz is at the end of his career. So the leafs are essentially trading a premier scorer for Laughton (who can't crack the flyers line-up, that should tell you all you need to know about his worth) and a 4th round pick??? C'mon.
Colorado is trading an offensive defenseman for lets see a 4th line(at best) center with no scoring ability, Read a 3.5 million dollar player who should be making 1.5 and playing on the 4th line, or better yet an AHL call up type player, and Haag an unproven player who may never crack an NHL lineup.
