Some good ideas until you threw in Oleksiak for malgin and a 4th and a 5th, thats pretty diabolical.

DAL probably gets a 2nd for Oleksiak, (and Im thinking a bit more), Malgin and a 4th and a 5th is pretty much a 3rd at best. Malgin is just a contract, if he cant crack the bottom 6 of toronto and their revolving door of has beens, never weres and never will bes, and every team has a handful of malgins (somewhat quality guys who are NHL/AHL tweeners)

I doubt the Leafs have much interest in pretty well the worst defensive player in the league.

I think Toronto is pretty well the last team in the league that need a purely offensive player.

I won't argue the value, you are probably right. My only thought is that with this year being a more difficult year to scout teams may value quantity of picks vs quality of picks more so.
Not that familiar with him just seemed like a reasonably responsible guy on a reasonable contract on an underachieving team. Plus, he can resign with Dallas next year when they are healthy and ready to compete again.
