Is it though? You're getting back Haula retained here too and not getting any compensation for that. And the deal was Muzzin for a 1st and two prospects (both 2nd rounders and one was in the draft just prior). Dermott isn't anything more than a bottom pairing defenseman (which NSH doesn't need) and who's to say on Abramov. Just not the right pieces to go along with the pick for Ekholm+.

If this is the best TOR can offer, then they're not getting Ekholm. This would be easily outbid by another team.

Let some other team overpay for Ekholm.
