Now here's a realistic Forsberg trade. The odds of the Leafs winning the cup with Forsberg would go up a lot, it's worth paying the price

Total cost is alright, but I still don't find this very realistic.

Liljegren should be able to start helping Nash next season, but aside from him everything else is years away from making an impact for Nashville.

This trade only makes sense for Nash if they want to burn the team to ground and go full rebuild.

Seems like a big overpay for the position that Leafs really don't really need that much help in.
IMO, no other team would make nearly as high an offer, but on CF, the Leafs seem to have premium for in any trade.
Liljegren shouldn't be any trade. The Leaf might need him this year and certainly next season and for years to come.

Retaining $3mill for this season and next is extremely valuable with the flat cap. Maybe one of the 1st rounders becomes a conditional 2nd that becomes a 1st based on team performance. I'd assume multiple teams would offer similar considering Forsberg would only cost $3mill through next season

I sure would like to see Forsberg offers from other teams. Actually I saw a couple and they those trades, didn't give up nearly as much as the Leafs.
If Forsberg is traded in real life, and it make sense for the Preds as teams would have for two playoffs....I would like to see the results. Can't imagine it's going to be nearly as high would the Leafs have to pay on CF.

You saw trades other teams offered for Forsberg? Rumours aren't exactly real offers. I'm comparing this trade to the Hall trade last year while considering Forsberg > Hall, and half of his $6mill contract is being retained through next season. Maybe they remove one of the mid tier prospects or the 2nd round pick. This offer is a slight overpay but I figure that's what it will take

Maybe teams have learned from that Hall fiasco. NJ became a .500 after he left and Arizona got worse with him. To me, Toronto is one of most illogical teams to be make a big play for a winger....but it seems to be CF fantasy that Leafs have to be in on Forsberg

Honestly I'd rather go after Ekholm but the rumors I've heard are for a forward (top 6) & might as well go big. I think the Leafs really just need to get & stay healthy cause can always call up Robertson for scoring depth. As for the trade it felt like a bit much but with Preds retaining half felt it was needed, though you could make a pick conditional or drop a prospect.
