Asking Price for RNH

Description
Let's say the Oilers tank and RNH refuses to sign an extension by the deadline.

What's your asking price?

You can use Ottawa as an example if you want.

Obviously, an RNH trade to Ottawa wouldn't happen.

I just like the speculation :)

A contending team would have to give back salary

I’d say one offer could be: a good prospect, top 9 player, a 1st and either a day 2 pick or another mid tier prospect

So if it's Ottawa that takes RNH ...

Brannstrom + Logan Brown + Lottery Protected 1st + said conditional pick?

    Would that get it done?

Without an extension in place I think it would be a little more than then Kadri trade

RNH for Top 4 D, Middle 6 foward, 2nd Round pick

With an extension something closer to the Duchene deal

RNH for Top Prospect, 1st Round Pick from a bad team, Additional pick/prospect

If Chiarelli was still GM today and he traded an unextended RNH for Stutzle, there would be a statue of him in front of Rogers Place. Might even get the key to the city lol grin

I’m curious what the market would be for him, I can’t think of any team that would pay a premium rental price for him. Vegas usually comes to mind for a c but the way they’re playing there’s zero reason to do it.

I called way back at the draft that stutzle was the best of all of them.

Hard to use OTT as example since that 1st will be high one.

    Maybe Hall as comp....Bahl/Merkley/1st (18th overall)/3rd

I'm going to say they won't be selling players this year and they will be 4th in the north division.

Adam Larsson has the same value as Taylor Hall we could trade him for Stutzle!

lol as much flack as they get for that deal, rhd typically has more value than a lw and outside of the hart year hall hasn’t set the world on fire. Devils won the deal but I do get why oilers did it.

Larsson was projected as a number 1 RHD drafted 4th overall, on paper it made sense. Then he brought in lucic who on paper was near hall's equal in points to make up for it which 1 year later proved to be the worst decision of all.

How do you explain Edmonton's recent 10 year playoff drought?

Larsson didn't develop into more than a 4/5 defence, lucic didn't have more than 1 good season then fell off a cliff, Eberle was traded for strome then strome was traded for a beer league player. They didn't find a goalie except in 2017 and then he wasn't good after and that literally propelled them into the second round, they rushed every first round pick they got into playing the first year and traded their draft picks and prospects for more beer league players such as brandon manning and kevin gravel who plays in the AHL now. Klefbom's shoulder was screwed from day 1 and Andrej sekera played 24 games a season. By the time Chia Left they were playing JJ khaira as a 1st line winger and now he is either scratched or 4th line.
