They didn’t want him for free, the rangers have said he’ll never play for them again. First off, i can’t understand why on earth you would want him, second off, why would you give up value?

They didn't take him off waivers because they don't have cap room. Jake is at best a third line winger and he can't even kill penalties. At 2.55 mill he is grossly overpaid. We can replace him for less than half and by trading him we get rid of his cap exposure and we can get Deangelo to help shore up our pitiful defense. I don't care that he quit Twitter and went on Parler. The Canucks have been in the Swedish fog long enough. We need more guys with fire in their bellies.
