Thanks for the input. You trade Nylander because Marner is better. You dont need to clear up Marner's value. Only around Nylander's. You have to give up something to get something. Nylander is your best trade asset as his salary is movable. You have to realize other teams need the cap space to take the contract and this cant be a money in .. money out deal. It has to be low value back in dollars ... I like Nylander but day in and day out he does not make the team go. Marner is a difference maker on a lot of nights. PP / PK .. drives your best goal scorers. Etc. etc.
With money you save you can sign Anderson / Hyman and fill out roster spots again with the aging vets at low dollars... your good to go until Reilly's contract comes up... but Kessel comes off the books.
