Agreed. I don't want to trade Wilde within the division, especially after losing Toews. We need all the organizational depth we can get. I'd happily give up a 1st and a lesser prospect or a 4th or something.

If palmieri signed a 2 year extension (highly unlikely) I would be fine giving up a 1sf, but that’s not happening and these trades for top 6 F rentals rarely work out. I’d rather give up a few 3rds for a middle 6 winger. Isles should not be trading their 1st rd pick this season, their prospect pool is thin.

I’m fine giving up a 1st for Palmieri as a rental, with conditional picks if he re signs or if the Isles win the Cup. Past that, no prospects. I see this kind of trade as extremely similar to the Pageau trade.

Though I see the fit I don’t think I want to give up a first and a top prospect for a rental.
