I disagree with the Campbell trade. His 1.6 aav isn't really paying a backup too much and the stability he brings to the position will be valuable to the team next offseason when Freddy potentially leaves. If Campbell plays well again and allows the Leafs to go with a tandem it makes them much more flexible cap wise for Freddy's replacement. That alone is worth the 800,000 extra cap space for 1 season.

Goalies wern't hurt but they severely lacked depth. They didn't trade for Campbell until well into the season and their backups before him, Hutchinson and Kaskisuo, went something like 0-10. There's nothing to lose by having depth at a 3rd goalie in case one does get injured though.
